Fright Nights

Fright Nights, formerly "Fright Nites" is Thorpe Park's Halloween event and also its largest. It's an annual event that has been running at Thorpe Park since 2002, celebrating Halloween with the park staying open until late at night, as well as operating a range of temporary Halloween attractions. Roaming actors in costume or with make up can also be found around the park.
In 2013, Fright Nights was relaunched with a horror movie theme, courtesy of a three-year contract with Lionsgate. All of the pre-existing Fright Nights attractions were removed with the exception of The Asylum to make way for new horror-film themed attractions.
In 2017 Fright Nights was reinvented with a Walking Dead theme. The addition of two walking dead attractions were added to coincide with the season 8 premier of the show. Then mazes which survived the overhaul was; Saw:Alive, The Big top and Platform 15 with Containment returning as an upcharge attraction.

We are happy to announce that the kind people at thorpe park have given us press tickets to this years fright night, so we will be there to review the fright night experience and new scare mazes.

This year’s Fright Nights at Thorpe Park Resort in Surrey will run between:
Friday 29th September – Sunday 1st October 
Friday 6th October – Sunday 8th October
Friday 13th October – Monday 16th October
Friday 20th October – Tuesday 31st October. 
Thorpe Park Resort will be open on these dates between 10am – 10pm. Fright Nights starts from 3pm on most days and half-term mazes will be open from 12 noon. 
The two new attractions for 2017 are themed around The Walking Dead. The indoor maze is called Walking Dead: Living Nightmare and the outdoor maze is called Walking Dead: Sanctum.
Other mazes returning for 2017 include: SAW Alive, Big Top and Platform 15.

Two horrifying new mazes based on the TV series The Walking Dead launch at Thorpe Park Resort on 29 September 
The mazes will coincide with the launch of The Walking Dead season 8 on FOX this October, and the landmark 100th episode

LONDON, 5 September 2017: Thorpe Park Resort has today unveiled a gory billboard featuring walkers feasting on blood and entrails, to promote two new exclusive The Walking Dead mazes. It marks the launch of the theme park’s annual 'Fright Nights' season starting on 29th September, which will be biggest in its history, running for more days than ever before.

The living billboard, which soaked unaware passing commuters in blood and guts this morning in London, was created using over 50 kilogrammes of offal (animal organs and entrails) and blood.
Thorpe Park in Surrey has secured an exclusive deal with the U.S. television network AMC to launch two new live-action attractions based on the globally renowned TV series The Walking Dead. The mazes coincide with the premiere of The Walking Dead Season 8 on 23rd October at 9pm on FOX and the landmark 100th episode.

The indoor maze called The Walking Dead: Living Nightmare will see visitors experience terrifying iconic scenes of the global phenomenon, including the world’s first live attraction featuring of season 7.   They will join other survivors on the brink of death at the mercy of the notorious Negan.

In The Walking Dead: Sanctum, guests will experience a live-action outdoor maze like no other. Following in the footsteps of survivors, they have to navigate their way past the roaming walkers or risk being captured. 

Marketing executives at Thorpe Park Resort are trialling the new interactive gore-fest billboard in East London, with a view to rolling out the new advertising format nationwide in September and October. Mounted on a truck, it will be touring London to promote Fright Nights this autumn. 

Dominic Jones, Divisional Director, at Thorpe Park Resort said, "Fright Nights is THORPE PARK Resort’s biggest event of the year, and we’re hugely excited to bring the worldwide phenomenon that is The Walking Dead to our visitors. Each of the two specially built mazes are absolutely terrifying and are definitely not for the faint hearted.”

As part of the advertising campaign, the walkers also took to the street armed with sandwich boards and golf sale signs to promote the two new attractions sending East London hipsters into a frenzy.
