You can’t go anywhere these days without seeing reusable canvas bags. These products are a great idea, they are good for the environment, more fashionable than a carrier bag and they are reusable. But the last thing is they are cheap normally between £2.50 and £3.
So why would I be talking about just a bag? Well there is more to these bags than meets the eye. Did you know these canvas bags can be turned into a cushion?
And we have done it and we are going to show you how.
Things you will need:
A pair of scissors
Same colour cotton as the bag
A cushion infill
First thing you need to do is cut the handles off the top of the bag. They need to be cut leaving about 2cm of the handle.
The other option is to unstitch the handles but we didn't do that.
Place the cushion infill inside the bag. We went for a 450 x 450mm infill which fills the bag up nicely. You would need to check the size of the bag you have to get the correct cushion.
Tuck the left over handle into the bag and pin the top of the bag closed at about 5cm intervals. Then can start stitching from one end of the cushion. This will take about 1 hour to complete but it's worth it.
So there you go! You can make theme park pillows for less than £5 each. If you were to buy a theme park cushion while at a park I would say it would cost you between £10 - £20.
